Oooh! Uk! Brilliant. I would love to see another show being brought to the Uk. We're getting quite lucky with all these peeps visiting us!

Come on guys, please don't get personal with this! I really respect the opinions of the posters in this thread & have learnt loads from your exchanges but this is getting painful to read. Please kiss & make up !
OK, haven't gotten to the end of this thread yet, but one of our local groups had women's-only haflas (possibly to accommodate a Muslim hobbyist dancer who would not dance in front of non-familial men). And some ladies just don't like to dance in front of guys they don't know. It's good that people are calling to ask how your event is run!

Whew! That was a lot of reading!

I popped over from the other thread to see what all the fuss was about. I had never bothered to read the updates, because I really don't care about male bellydancers as a group - I mean, I'm all for male bellydancers and it is a special treat for me to watch them perform, but I'm not personally concerned with their artistic development as men. I certainly understand if THEY are concerned about that, though!

I hope you gentlemen have a great show. I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. No female dancer is being ousted from the show - it's a show designed to feature men only. And if it's a smash hit, and starts touring the world on the funds of an "angel", I'll be happy for those involved.

Maybe as a result of this show we will have "star" male bellydancers, like we have "star" male chefs. Maybe they will cut into the women's bellydance work (note sarcasm mode). Or maybe, we ALREADY have these male stars, and they create more interest/jobs for EVERYONE!
