Okay:
I read this article back when god invented dirt and I also know Stefan personally. Nice guy but he's not a dancer, does not nor can not dance. He has no knowledge or expreience of the culture, (at least not when I met him, which was well after he had written this article). He was looking at the dance from a very stereotypical western perspective of what MASCULINITY should look like. This kind of B.S. really infuriates me because its so culturally innacurate and would make for such a hideous dance. My god can you imagine stomping around making bear claws and scowling at people? What I love about watching middle Eastern men dance is the fact that they are very secure in their masculinity and are not a fraid to be gracefull and sensual. Sensuality is not just something that women have, men have it too. It's what makes women interested in us. Without it, it would be like wanting to make love to a rock. Who want's to do that? So ladies, you be honest, what do you find more attractive? A man that that moves like he's got a stick up his ass, or the man who moves with grace, sensuality and loves and is in touch with his body? |

Grace, sensuality, power, and energy. That's what keeps me watching. |

It has taken my husband thirty years of concerted effort to even manage to dance with me in the privacy of our kitchen, but I reckon I will keep him anyway. He has many other redeeming qualities.

Grace is beautiful. It is not always with dance; for instance, playing guitar or some other instruments show male sensuality very well.
'To be your evening music to be held within your arms to be touched like you caress the strings of your guitar.'

My man is a drummer and as cool and lovely as I think that is I DO NOT want my skin to be "caressed" the way his drum skins are. OUCH!
Just love men that dance. Tito, yumm... and my man loves to dance to, though unfortunately not in the Tito way.
