whoa, sparkle!! hes, very good. Though it hurts me to watch him. And its kinda creepy. Nice upper body moves, very fluid and controlled. I just don't see much happening downstairs, not a lot of footwork and the transition between seems kinda strange like he pauses. Though not my style, he's better than I could ever be.

AAAH! His posture!!

I've seen this clip before, and his posture still scares me. He's going to put his back out if he's not careful!!

But the boy has got some moves

Freakishly beautiful isolations !!! But in my opinion it is not necessary for good belly dance. It is more like showing of "looking how I can isolate my body" rather than anything else. Body glitter is a big turn of for me.

Simply, it is nor for me.

What is it with this sudden spate of anorexic looking male dancers? Somebody buy that boy a cheeseburger!

Not for me either - all awesome isolations but no feeling, more like gymnastics than dance. And I'm with Janaki on the body glitter.

I thought he looked like he was made of rubber! I was impressed by the moves, though it does seem to be more of a circus act than a bellydance performance.

Dear Brea,
I would say that this guy has bought into the idea that the dance is all about overblown movement. He looks like he studied with the BDSS, who exaggerate everything so much. If he is going for a distinctly western style of dance, then he's got it goin' on, but belly dance it is not!!
I see this as an ongoing and getting worse issue. Belly dance for many westerners is becoming all about just movement, not even done correctly in context of Middle Eastern dance. Every other aspect of the dance itself is being left behind in this clip and he is very, very typical of what is happening to this poor dance in the hands of people who divorce it from its cultural roots, yet still feel inclined to refer to it as "belly dance".
AND his posture is very bad.
Hated the glitter, loved the rest of his costume!!
Regards,
A'isha

Geez, I've been the guest at at least a couple of drag queen shows where he'd be more appropriate.

The glitter is tacky, and he's doing more showing off than dancing.
