Heyas,

First thing I wanna say is about the comments about his weight... I don't think he has a weight issue. Being a gymnast he is bound to burn a lot of calories which is why he is built as he is. I don't think we should comment about something as personal as weight. We would't say someone was too fat and shouldn't eat as much, just like we shouldn't do the reverse.

Secondly, I think his technical abilities are amazing! But agree that there wasn't much feeling in his performance and it was more gymnasticy based. Still I did enjoy watching it.

I have mixed feelings about the glitter. I liked watching it, but from a distance looked like sweat...

There could be other reasons for this guy being so slim, but eating disorders truly are prevalent in many areas of dance and sports.

So long as societies promote an unhealthy view of what is desirable in the human body, people are going to go to great lengths to attain that abnormal ideal. We need to speak up so that there will be some counter-balance to the idiocy of thin being in.

And whether very overweight or under, I think exposing one's real or potential health problems in this case could be avoided with the appropriate costume.

Sara I think you are confusing "gymnast" with "contortionist." Male gymnasts are typically on the shorter side, and strongly muscled. They would generally not be capable of the kind of hyperflexibility this guy shows. I didn't see any of the athletic ability of a gymnast.

Lol, I know but I couldn't spell it :P

I still think commens about weight are too personal to comment on. We never know the effect comments like that have on the person....

Perhaps I was being too harsh, saying he looks anorexic. Just because one can see all of his internal organs through his skin, and he is nearly invisible from the side, is probably insufficient cause to suggest he may have an eating disorder.

Aye, I agree with Moon. I didn't think he was that skinny either to be honest.

oh pleeeezzzzzeeee!... who cares about his weight.... that is his business.... I do not think he is "anorexic" & while I realize being skinny is sometimes "forced" on those who like to eat in the dance/modeling world... I have come across plenty of people who just ARE..... just like plenty of people are JUST larger.....
about his dancing.... 1st off... I think the editing sucked.... I think all the "dancing" part may have been cut out to show off the "tricks" & also it seemed too "choreographed"..... IMO.... he could be a fab. belly dancer someday....... he is young/strong/ & super flexible & as he learns more about the dance could be a "wow".....
& you mean that was glitter???? damn... I would have been sweating!!!!

He's a very good contortionist but this is not Middle Eastern dance in any way shape or form. He's Turkish and unfortunately typical of what is happening to the dance in Turkey. They are losing the dance because they are going for razamataz rather than real dance. Relying on doing tricks, rather than expressing the music and emotions. They think as long as you show some skin and play some Oriental music its Oryantal. Sorry, but its not!

As to his weight, for some unknown reason I have dated almost exclusively men that look like this (body type wise). None of them were anorexic, they were just built that way. I like them, they are nice.

I do agree that it seems more like showing off contortionist skills than bellydance, however.
