Shafeek's New Website!
UK-based Egyptian dancer and teacher, Shafeek Ibrahim: Shafeek Dance
He's a fabulous and knowledgeable teacher and an amazing performer. His lovely wife, Tara, also has a new website: Tara Dance Tara's a fantastic dancer, I have no experience of her teaching. These two are a real antidote to the old-style Brit plodding-about-four-to-the-right-four-to-the-left! |

Hi Suheir! Thanks so much for posting those sites, I still am waiting to do a workshop with Shafeek..I hear many good things about him and there are some great vids of him dancing on youtube. I see he is holding another bellydance competiton...interesting!! I saw Tara perform at the last fantasia, she is a great dancer too! Anybody here brave enough to enter the competition???

Being a bit grumpy this morning, I have to express my annoyance with yet another flash-based website that takes 1.2 forevers to load, then has a .000005 typeface that is almost impossible to read. At least it doesn't blast me with unwanted music. Still, I'm VERY glad this guy has a site - I've heard a lot about him, and considering the ongoing flap about male Belly Dancers in the UK; its some much needed publicity. I hope he posts more pictures! |
