Default Male costumes around the world

Hello !!!!

(sory for english)

In Greece male bellydancers we wear costumes, uper body naked usual.
And clubs and restaurants they all wait for us to is this way.
Only at Tanura can be covered.

So what is the male fashion around the world?

Pretty eclectic. It seems more of a personal choice thing elsewhere - I find it interesting that Greek male Belly Dancers are almost all bare chested.

It seems a large number of males wear shirts - which I personally don't like as it doesn't look like a Belly Dancer, and worse - hides the movements. Among the dancers who are bare chested in the US, a kind of "X" chain affair on the chest is fairly popular. I think that looks a bit BDSM, but will take it over any kind of shirt.

The rest wear a two piece costume of one sort or another - me included.

We have a Turkish dancer in London whose apparel I find a bit odd:

He goes in for rubber "shrugs" which look mighty uncomfortable!

What's that below his eye? I've never seen similar decoration in bellydance...

Glittery sequins! He also favours an awful lot of glitter gel.

What about casual male Belly dancing costume. A Blue denim jeans, a hip scarf and bare chested greek style!

Not for me. But then I don't like "casual" Belly Dance pseudo-costumes on anyone - and I certainly can't abide jeans - the most uncomfortable item of clothing this side of a suit-and-tie!

Ok that's too much sweat!!! Some of that needs to be contained lest it dirps on the patrons. Now as women, we often try to wear costumes that are somewhat flattering for our figures, i.e making sure the 'girls' are harnessed in good and tight, tummy covers to confine and camouflage etc. There is no reason why a male can't put in the same time and effort.

I don't think that was sweat. I think he just has a smooth chest and belly. He might have some makeup on his chest and belly to make it shiney. Tim
