Dear brothers in dance
As I am a fan of youtube videos and I've watched almost all that have been posted in this forum, I noticed something: if a guy in this forum posts a video (his own, or a video from another guy), there respond to the video men as well as women. But if a woman posts a video (her own or of another female dancer), there respond almost only women. What is wrong with you guys? Is female belly dancing not interesting enough for you? Is this the revenge for the supposed discrimination? Do you expect us to accept and praise you, while you ignore us? Maybe I am a too sensitive, but I have started getting kind of angry ![]()

I don't think there is anything personal against female dancers, how could there be? I think part of it is that there are a lot more women then men on the forum. By the way, I have noticed that there has been very little input from the guys in the forum lately, except for myself. Perhaps they are all busy with other things at the moment.I think it's interesting that none of the guys responded to the new male dancer clip from Argentina I posted. I think they are just busy. I didn't comment on your video, but I did give it a rating on youtube though. The first and second were my favorites. |

I'm as guilty as the guys - I saw yours and loved them "Holy Chest Lifts!!!!" - really you are seriously graceful.
I didn't comment on Salome's yet either and I've watched them three times at least. Sorry - I'll try to do better ![]() |

Dear chryssanthi, I like your videos, specially the candle dance and sword dance I do sword dance, bottle of champagne dance, and tray dance, I agree with you, is mainly for showing off, audience look mesmerized, some times they do not applaud because they think I will loose concentration and prop will fall out of balance, we do like all this suspense, don't we? keep balancing. mariesaffron

Dear Tarik, dear Gabi, dear Mariesaffron.
It is sweet, that you all referred to my videos in your postings in this thread (thank you for having watched them and I'm glad you liked them), but I was really thinking of the general situation with the guys in our forum. O.k., maybe Tarik is right and the guys from the forum are too busy to involve in the forum at the moment. But aren't we all too busy? And what I'm talking about doesn't happen just at the moment, it has been happening for a while. I understand that male belly dancers are interested in watching other male belly dancers, since they are a minority, but I think, they should be a little interested also in the dance of their female colleagues. Tarik, thanks a lot for responding ![]()

Apologies...
I tend to NOT watch YouTube videos unless there is a LOT of buzz on the subject. This has nothing to do with male/female or any other issues, I just don't care for YouTube - just like I don't care for Tribe. Also, I do most of my web surfing from home - 28.8K baud dialup. VERY painful to watch videos from ANY source! Plus, frankly, I've been logging into this forum less and less frequently because I get annoyed about threads constantly moving around. I stop in at about ten different forums on a variety of subjects, and this one is the ONLY one that moves threads around. Once in a while it makes sense, most of the time its just an annoyance. Besides, Tarik is the best representative for males possible - you gals are in good hands!
