Dear Caroline and Masrawy,

you two are the best!!! You've really made my day. Alf Shokr!!!

Masrawy, I loved the Shafiq Galal clip. From what period of time is this clip?
Can you tell me anything more on Shafiq Galal? (sorryyyy hijacked my own thread for a minute..)

I'm going to look for Mounir's album right away.

Thank you so much for all the help and info. I'm loving this version already and am wanting to dance something to it with one of my fellow dancers but finding the original would be awesome.

Thanks again so much!!! I'm going to try and give you reputation points for it

Grande Hug for both of you!

Hey Caroline, that sound like sleazy guy ... the way I put it is a "fisherman in the sea of love" . " Ana sayyad fei baher el gram "
I'm pretty sure that it is "Shafiq Galal" that I heard it from long time ago maybe not the original, these things recycle overtimes many times. But if you listen carefully to Mounir you could hear the mowal sha'abei style in it.

Hey Yahka,
The Clip I am not sure exactlyf rom what period but it might be from the 60s. As for "Shafiq Galal" he was well known fo rmowal Shaabi in the beginning but he moved on later to more or less of regular songs, also he seems to have done lots of movies as a supporting actor and usually it involves singing.
The closest that I could think of "mowal sha'abei" is the blues, it's more about the words and the music is just a background that add to the dynamic of the "mowal".~Mahmoud
