Me too.
I'm all for more local student performance opportunities but the thought of risking missing the last train home after a loong Saturday night full of them... ... anyone else sometimes get those moments when you suddenly realise that on the whole you'd rather be at home in bed with a nice mug of cocoa listening Radio 4? ![]() |

I always assumed the shows were made up of the teachers, occasionally with students, rather than invited performers. So the show and open stage were separate things rather than the main event and the relegated.
Still doesn't answer the question of how the teachers are selected! ![]() |

Changing the subject to MADN, when I asked at the AGM a couple of years ago how they'd selected the teachers to perform in their teachers' showcase they said that the line-up had been chosen by the committee - guess what, same-old, same-old. Several teachers that I know had been disgruntled as they hadn't been invited to perform or even invited to submit applications. Same old story, not what you know but who you know... ![]() |

MADN platforms should be more democratic and hopefully they are...but I guess that alot of the committee are also JWAAD trained teachers so they could well be biased to other JWAAD dancers. |

Dear all, I'm glad to hear your thoughts on this - I haven't been in London long enough to meet everyone but your thoughts echo mine on the whole JWAAD thing, ie cliquey and pretentious.
