Yippee Joy this weekend! I am travelling down tomorrow... I couldnt find the other Joy thread so posted again. Who else is going?

I'm at Clifton Lodge but two ladies from my class are at the Ibis...I think loads of dancers are stopping there.

. I stayed at the Ibis last time but it was full when I booked.

do people staying in shipley know you can walk along the canal to get there? it's so much prettier than along the main road.
and if anyone has any Qs about the local area, just ask. i don't live quite there, but really not so far.

LizaJ, how long does it take you from Formby?

from Southport , it's taken between 1 1/2 hours - 2 hours depending on traffic. We usually set off at 7.00 to get there for 9.30 workshops ..and end up having brekkie

I'm staying out in Bingley ( well 2 miles out) as the Abbey Lodge rooms just gor seedier and seedier each time we stayed despite lovely staff and a good breakfast.
Last time we were up 3 flights of stairs in an attic with ciggie burns all over the wondow ledge..next to a communal toilet with a guy lurking outside on the cadge for ciggies and our friends were in a windowless cupboard with a 3/4 bed and dubious items on the bathroom floor
