Hi everyone. My latest challenge is to learn to belly dance. I have been dancing since i was 4 (specializing in ballet, tap & jazz) and have tried a little of everything. Belly dancing has always intrigued me - I want to start by learning the basics via an instructional DVD before i drop in on classes...can someone suggest any good ones worth the money ??

I would say drop in class if yo can and add a DVD later.
I would recommend Jenna's DVDs ::: BeyondBellydance ::: Jenna ::: Venture beyond your expectations with bellydancer Jenna's solo performances and group belly dance classes; based in Los Angeles, Jenna is available for Middle Eastern dance workshops and private lessons as well. Basics and Beyond to start. Also read lots of reviews in this thread: What instructional DVDs/Videos you have? Good luck

Instructional DVD's
if you want to find out if we've discussed anything before, ther's a search button at the top of page. I typed instructional and came up with that thread for you . I think there are others if you want to search for yourself Jen |

If it is your first time Belly Dancing I recommend taking from an Instructor in your area just to get the posture under your belt. Then look into the world of DVD's....ohhh try netflix. Ansuya, Amaya, Fat Chance and Aziza are all tops!
