hey folks, since Brea's Festival is going to be next year instead, i'm looking for some workshops to take in the last third of this year. Not living in the US and all, i don't really have any clue when these things happen and where they're advertised and such. Something closer to the east coast would be great since i'm in the Caribbean, but i'll look into anything you guys suggest.
I don't really do any Tribal so i'd prefer that it not be a tribal workshop, otherwise i just want to learn - particularly the folk dances like Raqs Beledi & Raqs Assaya, but also anything else in any of the major styles or even zills. Thanks!! Mya |

You might be better off to take intensive classes from people than do workshops, where you actually might learn less than you would in privates, most of the time. If you are looking to meet other dancers and network, then a workshop is a great place to do that. there is also the opportunity to do both, and that would be even better! Decide what your objectives are and then plan ahead. Once you decide what you want to concentrate on and when you will be in a certain area, there are many people on the forum who can give you advice about who is good in what area. If you were coming out west, I could send you my class/workshop schedule, but since you are going to be East, it probably would not do you too much good! Regards, A'isha |

Hey Sausan, i took a look at your workshops and they look great but i definitely can't afford them! i can't spend $4000.00 in one go for dance tuition or i'll be broke..or more broke - lol.
thanks though and hopefully one day i'll be able to do one of your workshops. Mya |

$4000??? I think you may need to look again. :-)
The workshops are a week long and go $800. And there is a savings if you purchase them early. -Sausan
