Default UK dancers!

Hi there,

I have moved to UK quite recently and I haven't yet found dance classes in my area. I have managed to find out some information about a few workshops I could be interested in, but mostly I still feel a bit lost here... If any dancers from UK happen to be reading this I would be really happy if anyone could tell me where to look for dance classes, workshops, haflas and maybe meet other dancers online or live. I live in north England but information about interesting stuff anywhere in UK would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Oh, er... I must be blind. I was looking very carefully for a topic about UK dancers and couldn't find one so I started my own. Now I can see it and even on the first page... Stupid me!

Hi there, welcome to the UK! You can try
Wiggle - Find a Bellydance Class in the UK.
a useful site listing workshops and teachers in the UK. Where abouts are you up north? Im sure there will be a teacher based near you, good luck with the search.

Heyas,

I'm from the North! Yorkshire! I think Wiggle is the best site for everything information wise, also there are certain events in the North, like the Jewel of Yorkshire, and a few Hafla's here and there.

Here's a thread about the Jewel of Yorkshire.

Nice to meet yas.

Hi all,

Isetnofret, I moved your thread to this already existing thread related to UK dancers. This way, you can all chat together!

Thanks for everyone! Jewel of Yorkshire sounds really nice and there is a few interesting workshops. I'll have to decide if I have the courage to go there without knowing anyone. Do people in general know each other there or bring lots of friends? Will I be the only one who doesn't know anyone?

I think I'm going. I know nothing about Blackpool but I was looking at the website ( http://www.raqsbritannia.co.uk/ ) and the place where the festival is held looks like a decent place. But well, I also liked it last summer except that I didn't book a hotel room, missed the last train and stayed all night at the railway station.
