Thankyou Reen and everyone! Things are getting better. My husband had a microdiskectomy/laminectomy last Thursday and the neurosurgeon removed 3 disk fragments. My husband does have some pain in his left leg, the surgeon calls them phantom pains. I think what he means by that is that nerve had been compressed for so long that the nerve is regenerating itself. Also the surgeon manipulates those 2 nerves during surgery which could cause inflammation in his leg. He is definately feeling better. We did not attend the fire works last night, because he wasn't feeling up to it, so he is just resting and recovering. What a scary experience.
Tribal! I am so sorry you lost your sister or brother. When did that happen? My sympathies are with you. Hugs to you! |

Thank you for that, Kute. She was just very sick when we were younger, and was too small to fight anything off, even with help.
But, I am also sorry about your husband. Whatever happened must've been a horrible accident! That's great that he's getting better, really. Be sure to keep us updated.

That is still hard, not matter how much time goes by after you lose a loved one. I hope you have wonderful memories of her when she was here with you.
My husband didn't really do anything in particular to injure his back. He has had back problems for 10 years on and off. Mostly off...lol But the disks were badly degenerating over the years which got him to this point. He said he pulled the garbage down to the road for the garbage man to pick up and that is when he started feeling severe pain. I knew from his expressions this time that the pain was different and more severe. Also, my husband has to be dying to see a doctor and he was agressively seeking medical help. My husband is very athletic and he keeps himself in good physical shape. He bicycles like my son does, just not as fast as my son...lol Pre-surgery it was not uncommon for my husband to bike 100 miles a day. He is feeling much better now, just the soreness and pain that goes along with having surgery. He is on the road to recovery...If he will only rest so he can heal. That is the hard part...He is stubborn and wants to do stuff that he is not yet ready to do. I caught him unloading the dishwasher and lifting laundry out of the dryer, etc... Quote:
