Kharmine sent me a Jane Austen Action figure one time- she comes complete with a quill pen and writing desk. Or wait- maybe a co-worker gave me Jane. I think Kharmine sent me a Marie Antoinette action figure with a head that pops off with the flick of a switch.

Me too! And all the movies that have been coming out in the past few years.

I've seen the action figure, but I opted for the Crazy Cat Lady one instead.

It's no where near the Colin firth and Jennifer Ehle one! It's one of my favorites!

Agree 100%! Colin Firth will always stay 'Mr Darcy'....LOL

AT home I got my little collection of the movies- Sense and Sesibility with Kate winslet, Emma with Gwineth Paltrow, Mansfield Park and Persuasion( This one rather old). Still need to get my hands on the 'original' series of Pride and Prejudice....

For interest to you Austen fans, I live a 5 minute walk away from Kenwood House in London, which was the manor & grounds in which one of those films was shot! Possibly Emma? It's on my regular running route and whenever I run past it I always feel like I should be wearing an empire-waist dress with lace modestly covering up the neckline, and ringlets, rather than my shorts and trainers! Would be funny to see someone going for a run in that get-up though...

LOL Actually very often in older parts of town, whether it is London or Canbridge or Edinburgh I often get such a creepy feeling that modern traffic and modern dressed people are out of place next to the time-eaten stones of old buildings.... It almost feels like there gonna appear round the corner a horse-drawn carriage and ladies wearing bonnets.... Maybe those are the ghosts of the past? Or maybe I have watched too many of those old movies... LOL

It would be funny to dress that way and just wander around the grounds, and pretend to be really surprised at seeing all the 'modern people' there, then have a picnic. That would surely add some spice to Londoners' day out on Hampstead Heath!
