No offense, but I really don't think this is anyone else's business other than the people you're asking. Religion causes division,so can we please leave this out of the forum?

ever heard the saying, 'guns dont kill people, people kill people'?

same is true of religion. religion does not divide people, people divide people.

if your religion causes you to be so devout that you can find no reason in another's religion, then you can probably find no reason in many things. nevermind.

but maybe you're right about it not being anyone's business. a relationship between you and God is between you and God. noone is asking you to answer to that, its just a question of curiosity i think.

I will agree with your first statement but would respectfully disagree with the second. Although, given that I think all religions are fabrications of people, there ultimately ceases to be any difference between saying "religion divides people" and "people divide people".

Personally, I believe that good people can be found in any religion BUT good people are good despite their religion, not because of their religion.

As I remember, it was a choice if you were comfortable sharing your religion. I honestly believe that people are good because they were brought up to be a good person, with good morals and an idea of what is right or wrong. Religion just enhances that goodness inside of you. Although, many people claim that they were bad people and once God called upon them, they changed their lives around, therefore, God does make people better. Who am I to judge God's word.

this is true. i think that is what i meant as far as people are bad/good, religion has nothing to do with that.

i think for most part religion does not seek to divide people, people seek to divide based on their own perceptions/prejudices.

i guess the point where i differ is that i dont believe religion is the fabrication of people, that would make God fallible wouldnt it? there is a saying that all that man has created, man can destroy and if it were so that religion were conceived by man than eventually that system will also fail.

Do you believe God does not divulge wisdom on humans in the form of religion?
or maybe i've misunderstood.

i believe that mostly, that God does not divulge anything to any of us.

Yep. And unless you believe that *all* religions and their doctrines are true (despite their incompatible claims), then you also believe that at least some religions are the fabrications of people.

If on the other hand, you somehow manage to believe that Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Bhuddism, Hiduism, Taoism, Animism, Native American religions (sorry don't know proper names), the Moonies, Scientology, Druidism, the polytheist religions of ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, etc. etc. are all true and that none are the fabrications of people, then I guess I don't even know how to argue with that.

i tried to argue this one. to find a logic that makes religions fundamentally similar. could not do it except for a sense of spirituality that comes from religion. so it happens to be denominational, we do this in order to satisfy our own cultural/social values. in that effect religion is totally subjective. and religion if it is an accurate one, will not change throughout time like it has.

not too much of the devil's advocate on this one. i do agree with you. religion is a fabrication, but spirituality is not.
