speaking of Lutherans, we just lost a Sister who embodied all that is good about her branch of the church:
Helen Erickson, missionary fluent in Swahili quote: "Helen Erickson devoted her life to mission work in Tanzania...during a career that spanned five decades...Her first nursing class graduated in 1956. The students she taught, both men and women, become nurses who would work in local hospitals, dispensaries and villages." We need more people like her in this world! |

Heya, it would be fun to meet with all of us at the Med cruise! I won't be that way for a few weeks however due to a very busy schedule and my son will be graduating from high school. |

I was born in a Hindu- Budhist type family, My parents are extremely religious, but they gave me the right to choose my own beliefs, And the more i am getting older i have started to ask more questions about religion. I find religion is more of an emotional/personal subject and I try my best to stay away from it. For me God is like Alif Layla stories, Its interesting but is it true?

Tikvah with your name I guessed you were a MOtT
I'm a progressive, with more conservitive leanings, I keep vegetarian instead of kosher, I fast on Yom Kippur, go to shul almost every weekend, and I activley believe in Tikkun Olam. But for me what it's really all about is having the coolest extended family in the world (we were all at Sinai remember), this means I'll never go hungry .

Well with a comunist atheist father and a catholic strickt mother I think its natural I'm just political spiritual.
Typical I'm Greek Orthodox Christian (and living just beside the church that wake me up at 6 am every morning with the bells lol) but I guess its more than 10 years that I passed the door of it for a pray. I do attend the ceremonies (weddings/baptize/funurals) but mostly with a feeling of following the greek traditions. I havent resolved the whole subject yet, but i trully believe that its imposible everything around us not to have been created by something/someone at somepoint of time (lost in spacetime). Admiting that at crisis periods of my life, i've prayed to a higher being (God in general) but mostly feeling it as a heart-caring-good power. I guess i'm romantic lol Maria Aya |
