I consider myself an agnotsic theist - I do not know whether God or gods exist, but I'd like to think they do... and are off stirring microbes into life on other worlds.

I do not subscribe to any organsied religion, but find quiet spirituality in nature, meditation, and the people/aminals I love. That's enough for me.

I don't find spirituality in dance (at this stage) as I'm trill trying not to trip over my own feet. I dance for the sheer enjoyment of it, not for any deeper meaning.

My beliefs stem from two completely different sides of the family but it's not so much a religion but a mix of traditional beliefs from the two. So I chose other.

I believe that there is something out there but it is not a single entity but a presence or energy. It's everywhere and in everything. Every moment is destined, even when we believe that we have changed our destiny. I think everything happens for a reason whether we can see it or not, and that everything we do generates something else and leaves an imprint.

That's the basics. I believe that the energy presence does not interact with us directly, but simple watches over us (like a guardian angel) and helps us through signs and dreams etc. I don't believe it is the only presence, but other things exist under it (like managers in departments) and as part of it, like spirits and all sorts of paranormal/supernatural things.

Hence- I'm a very superstitious person I believe you can access the future and that humans have allsorts of abilities they are unaware of and that we occasionally tap into them.

Thats the simple version.

The hostess of this thread asked for votes from dancers only. Therefore, I shall not post a vote in deference to her request. But if I may, my religion is Catholic of Sephardic Jewish background. And yes, there is a touch of Spanish Arabic in my blood line. I sincerely believe that all of Abahram's children should live in Peace.

I also believe I have some Jewish background because my Grandfather's last name is Jewish although, they were practicing Catholics...I think i will do some research on that topic.

I am from MN also. Whereabouts are you?

Thanks...Duluth is nice in the summertime. I have family in St. Paul and I am traveling tomorrow with my husband and son as a matter of fact. I love St. Paul also. Have you been to the Meditteranean Cruise Restaurant on highway 13?

I was raised Catholic and meandered along a few different paths before finally settling on being a liberal Lutheran because I like fellowship with folks who aren't ostentatious about their faith. I consider myself a feminist and a non-fundamentalist, and see good in many other belief systems besides my own.

BTW, I am married to a Jew who is inclined toward Hinduism.

Not yet - and that's because cooking is my hobby!

Great!!! Prejudice is sin and your outlook is the best weapon against it.

Kharmine (and everyone else):
How much people know about Lutherians around the world? Finland is mostly Lutherian country with a touch of Ortodox and very little anything else. My problem abroad is when people ask if I'm Christian - "yes", which one: Catolic, Protestant... - "Lutherian" ???? What? They don't understand at all.
Here in Egypt they never have heard about it, not even the Christians. But even in England I had the same experience.
