Here's a teacher who gets to her class for free..on public transport. Frankly everyone here in the UK should get free public travel, they should massively improve rail and bus,tram and ferry networks (our local ones are usually very good here on Merseyside) paying attention to rural as well as urban areas and get everyone out of their cars especially the gas guzzlers that are now clogging up our crowded roads. This way our grand children may still have a planet.

I am dismayed when UK belly dance workshops are held in places that are inaccessible by public transport and I just despair when so many people *drive* to places that *are* easily accessible by public transport.

Ken Livingstone's ultimate aim was free public transport for all Londoners when he was Leader of the GLC - at least he got right up Maggie's nose with his Fares Fair policy!

We should start a campaign..green belly dancers..look at your links before you book your venue. After all if petrol and parking gets any more ridiculous then fares may be a better option. I was in a hotel with a dancer who paid £24 (not far off 50$) to park in Blackpool for the weekend..twice my bus and train fare and certainly more than hers combined with petrol.

I can honestly say i am very interested in tribal dance but its because of the alluring snake look of it . to me tribal looks very musc like a snake that some how became a women and was very pleased with its self lol. But i think absolutly rachel brice is the best there possible could be in tribal ... i have followed a class or two and found it very neat very cool and very hard. lol. isolations are amazing and extreme . so its not an easy dance to learn lol. so most give up to be honest. but it depends on your prefrence i guess. But i enjoy so much!

When I first saw tribal, I was fascinated and wanted to know where it came from. When I discovered it was a modern American mish-mash of influences and not actually "tribal" at all, I felt I had been conned, and refused to have anything to do with it for a while.

I've mellowed now! Many new dances were invented in the 20th century - foxtrot, modern jazz, hip hop, etc - so why not tribal? There are some fantastic tribal dancers out there. Many of them have stunning technique, too.

Egyptians are doing Tribal and I'm seeing more and more Lebanese students living here exploring Tribal style.

I'm not as attached to the costuming (except the Hahbi Ru Ren Faire style costuming) but the older I get the more I appreciate and enjoy ATS definitely, and even some of the Tribal fusion, if you can still see the "tribal" in it.

What's with a lot of former ATS groups going Bollywood, these days? I'm seeing that a lot on Tribe, and I wondered why the new trend.
