Dear Aisha,

Have you talked with Helene Erickson? I have seen her do the Tunisian pot dance several times and I know she has spent time there. She also has her doctorate in dance ethnology I believe, so she might be another good source.

I think right now she is also in Seattle, so it shouldn't be too hard to get in touch with her.

Actually, Helene and I keep thinking of meeting each other and it never quite works out, somehow... We have a private student in common who thinks it should happen, too. (She is on this forum and is usually very quiet... you know who you are MN!!)

Dear A'isha,

That is too bad that you haven't had the opportunity to catch up with her. I keep wanting to take some of her intensive workshops and it has never worked out timewise. But I have been in some of the same workshops she has taken and she is a lovely woman and quite a wealth of information.

Sometime you should make a trip over to this side of the mountains to get together with her and I can trek into the big city and have coffee with you!

Dear Gang,
Let me introduce Marya!!! She is one of the most serious dance students I know. She carefully chooses people with whom to study and travels hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of miles to do so. She will also help you move your neighbor's dead cat if the necessity arises!! I LOVE this woman, and my cat, Yao, has a terrible crush on her.
