i finaly found out, why arabs think its bad news

I hear this now for as long i am dancing...its haram ,its bad ,you will go to hell,and i dont know what else
Never could realy be convinced do ,so i keep on doiing my thing
yesterday in class girls are talking again about it ,,Malaya,,....i geuss i am lucky i never went to a party to witness this LOL
I THINK I WOULD HAVE FLIPTED
but now i understand why in this part of the world people think you are bad news,(and that is nicely said.)...when you are a dancer
I try to put the clips overhere ,but i cant it is not having a url
But please go and see for yourself,it will make you very very proud the rest of your life that you are a Bellydancer
Just go to youtube and put in the urlspace the word ,,Malaya,,
carefull do....keep a bucket next to you in case you get sick

Oh just yesterday a Qatari friend was talking to me about Malaya - she said she really would like to dance "like the egyptians" but that she only managed Malaya, and it is "a bit dirty" (I am quoting her. )

i personaly dont think that thats why they think its haram.Malaya dancing is buttshaking,like for example african woman shake there behinds..and the tribes like too see this.and to them its not bad thing.i allso heard a lot bad thinks about its bad en bla bla.i think the fact is just that you can see the womans body,its sensual ..and she does it in front of a lot men.allthow it just to be by woman and for woman.all the men i heard saying its haram.they were the first to watch.ask any saudi if he likes to see it.they all love to see it.And that makes me angry.If its that bad,why you watch it.thats allso haram.But unfortunatley a lot think youre bad,if you bellydance.But as long as we like it...let them talk.

I guess don't see anything wrong with these movements provided they aren't being incorrectly labeled. They aren't oriental dance, obviously.

Pelvic movements such as these are fairly common in traditional African dances, and I think this is coming from cultures where, at least in certain situations and within certain boundaries, people are much more open about human sexuality. Honestly, I think its pretty ethnocentric to be so repulsed by another cultures' dances.

The context of the clips I saw was pretty sexual, but so what? I mean really, so what?

The problem doesn't lie with these consenting adults pelvic thrusting (they seem to be having a good time to me), its the fundamental, dogmatic whackos of ALL religions who can't shut up about haram and hell and god and the ancient mythology they so desperately cling to.

No malaya means sheet. They usually veil themselves with a malaya when they do it.

Hi there ..my point is just this...if you are ok with people ,,dancing,, in a way that this lady,s are ,,dancing,, how on earth you can say that bellydancing is haram? that,s my point.....i live in the middle east sinds 1984 and perform here sindts that time...many many times,people have said to me that i will go to hell because i dance ....i have to prove over and over again that i am not a prostitute and i am just a dancer that performs and go home alone after the show...but still many of them give me the eyes like yeah yeah....i know what you are doing.....and it just schocked me that they are so comfertable watching this girls and it seems to be ok....keep in mind that many of this people will never go to see a bellydancer because that is a very bad to do !!
But just look at the clips and see what this girls are doing.....sorry but for me this just to much to cheap to vulgair and a nono......and when there is a party they just say o we hade diner we hade malaya and it seems to be so normal and ok ....but bring a bellydancer no,no that is haram...I have many local girls in the class and some of them have to lie and tell the parents they go to paintclass or whatever but can not say they go to bellydancing...the same girls will tell me we hade malaya in the wedding it was so nice......LOL AYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!
