While I agree that Rachel Brice's performance is startling, there is one difficulty that I have with it: there's no audience!
Stage6 · Rachel Brice - Indigo Drum - Video and Download · voodooskullz Yes, this is a very artistic performance. However, to me the greatest merit BD has is when the artist draws her audience into her performance so that she and them virtually become one. Of course, my preferences do not diminish her work's merits by an iota. But it would have greater merit (to me) if she could interact with an audience and all could be made a part of her performance. The bottom line to me is that BD is to be experienced, not just watched --- this is what gives it so much artistic merit. Last edited by sultan; 02-13-2008 at 03:22 AM. |

My favorite stile is Egyptian. But what is the real Egyptian stile? We cant dance like Arabic dancer if we didn't live in Egypt and didn't take lessons from Egyptians stars .Every teacher has own stile. Someone try to dance the same as in Egypt. Some mixed belly dance with choreographic and it is beautiful too.
Every person can find what prefer. |

I like all the styles for different reasons. I like Tribal (fusion and normal) because its more broken down, slower, harsher - in a strong sense.
But I like the other styles for opposite reasons, for flowing, graceful, feminine. I dont think I have a preference. I like to watch both for different reasons. ![]() |

I clicked on most of those choices! :P
I like them all, really. I think they all bring something fabulous to the table. Since my style is closest to Lebanese of course I will say that, but Turkish...Egyptian...tribal...argh it is really hard to decide!!!
