Saida - Well, I cannot see feeling in this work - yes, I call it work not dance. Her dance technique is flawless but that does not make the dance. It looks as if she is trying to put all moves and steps in she knows, disregarding the message of the music. Sorry, there is no joy nor life in this.

Now after I have watched all the other versions:
I have seen better from Lucy.
Didem, I'd rather say nothing...she should better stay away from classical music like that....
Of the American Ladies I favor Bozenka.

Maria Aya! That performance was amazing!! I loved it!
I did however, have to check out the Authentic Kitchen Baladi that appeared...and oh my god, I love it. I thought I was the only one who did this, although I could learn a thing or two from you about removing rubber gloves

I also vote for Aziza, who in my mind, captured and expressed the music in her body in a way that Didem, Jillina and yes, Lucy, in this clip anyway, just didn't, for me, anyway.

Default Very simple....

Hi!

1. What was the intention of the songwriter? We all know the text in which we learn that the singer tells about the love night like in 1001nights, the fact of being together, only having the night, and when the sun arises, this night will be finished. And the singer wishes the sun to stay away for a minimum of one year..... I performed this song in a version sung by Nancy Ajram, and for me it is very important to let the audience take part of the story which is told there. In my opinion sometimes a simple "standing there and breathing" is better than dancing over the song.

that leads to

2. Jillina is counting (1-2-3, tak, tak, tak, tak...and again) and I can see this. Now I am not something special, so other people, just simple audience without any belly dance knowledge can either. Didem is raping this song-if I where a man I would run away in expection of such a love night. Lucy is great in interpreting this song; here one can see that it is not toooooo bad if the dancer knows the text. And Aziza, yes, in her dance I can see it, too.

3. Other dancers whose videos are shown here which are more or less unknown seem to be better than the stars....and in Didem's Video, the young girl in the yello t-shirt had more expression than Didem.

And by the way-I love to watch "real" women in belly dance and not bitchy chicks, but this is a very other story....
