(& I have ALWAYS been directionally challenged (like the way you explained it!!! I too know WHERE I am going,,, just can't spit it out!)..... which may explain alot!!!) I am hoping all this (yours & mine!) confusion is just a product of a too fast paced world! but of course... maybe a doctor could help?!?! good luck! |

Dear Belly-Dancer,
Thanks for the words of encouragement!! I am happy to hear I am not alone in my er...directional dyslexia or whatever it is. I am currently on aspirin therapy, which is the common thing for TIAs. Regards, A'isha Dear Rico, I refuse to mellow and shall be curmudgeonly into my death, post rigor mortis, beyond the grave, into my next life, for eternity. With love, A'isha |

I have a form of directional dyslexia. I cannot tell left from right very well and that has made it difficult. Someone calls out right and I promptly go left because my brain says that is right. When driving, I know where to go which way to go but please don't ask me if you need to turn left or right. You'll get please turn your side or my side, drivers or passengers or for my equally challanged daughter this way or that. I love the follow the leader cause its all visual.

Remember in Zoolander, where Ben Stiller is incapable of turning left on the runway, until the very end? So there's always hope!

"Rhythm is also culturally related, as we know. The oriental rhythm is not ours and when practising belly dancing we missed our western European dance elements. Following the inner call, step by step our own cultural elements were added. This development was enhanced and refined over the years with as a result that the western European elements were incorporated more fluently in the process. The original dance form and dance content shifted and ultimately led to a new dancing style. Because elements of break dance played an important role, the name belly break dance was chosen." There is some more info and instructional clips of the style at her webpage |
