I'm really new to belly dance, but my favorite so far have been Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, and Ariellah Aflalo. But I'm going to look up some of the Egyptian dancers mentioned. I need to see more videos of that style.

Itīs kind of funny that when I am more concentrating on learning "the real thing" more I seem to enjoy western or fusion style dancers as my current top 3 who I enjoy to watch always and to follow their instructional DVD:s (not had a chance to study "live" yet
) is Ansuya, Aziza & Suhaila Salimpour ![]() But I still would not call them my idols as idol is someone who gives a perfect example of what you want to be yourself as a dancer one day... Suhaila could fit also this list but Artemis Mourat and Suhair Zaki are here my top (I really would like to add here some Turkish dancer but as nor material of their dancing neither possibility for deeper study with them is not easily available I simply cannot ) |

I'm going to be shunned immediately, but I really like Amani... and Chryssanthi - not fussed on Rachel Brice (sorry!!), or Didem. Still new to watching, and new to the styles, but I love the older B&W egyptian dances, but can't remember the names...sigh...
The video I really like of Amani is this: Sorry I don't know how to embed the video links yet!!

i love that clip of amani, not many of her others but that one is good. i love her arms there in the beginning, that is my goal.
i havent seen enough to know my 3. but i will tell you in the very very beginning i liked rachel brice, aziza, and ansuya. now things have changed and i'm still, hm, forming...learning...searching. though now i really really like ariellah, (yes the goth one) a LOT. she has something about her, very good, passionate, i just love her. and chrysanthi, yes this one, i like her style as well. its very personable and interactive. and the yosifah rose, the woman who put out dancers etiquette, i have seen her youtube clip as linked on her website and was also very very impressed with that. here is yosifah rose's link : YouTube - Middle Eastern Treasures Concert II Last edited by charity; 08-15-2007 at 01:27 AM.
