Now I am curious...what is character dance? Is it dance for musical theater, like a Broadway show? Or is it something else? It sounds like fun, whatever it is! ![]() |

On my "to-try" list of other dances:
- Flamenco - Indian, either traditional styles or a more Bollywoodian style I attended a Spanish/Oriental fusion workshop in the past and I really loved it. I've also seen a few flamenco performances and they blew my breath away. So Flamenco is high up in my list! I unfortunately cannot find any classes in my neighborhood, so that ain't going to happen anytime soon ![]() As for Indian dance(s), I'd say that I'm more "intrigued" by them. I might just give it a try some day! And of course I'd like to do some ballroom or salsa, but the hubby has 2 left feet and I don't want to go alone ![]() |

Hi! Character dance if folkloric dance taken to the stage, with ballet bases. For example in character dance you have russian, hungarian, greec, spanish, qypsy, etc. dances. A lesson starts with barre technique. Acorbatics is alos importent. The dance in general demands a strong personality, expression and emotions. Here is an example of russian character dance: YouTube - Russian Dance Hope it was understandable ![]() Khaira |
