I only watched 43 seconds of the clip, but it SCREAMED Lebanese style to me.

There is quite a lot of "waving around" with hands in the video... Is this one of the characteristics of Lebanese style? I know very little about Lebanese

Yes, this dancer is definitely the Lebanese Amani (this time with black hair. She usually dyes her hair red ) and what she dances is modern Lebanese style. I have seen her performing live here in Germany about 11-12 years ago. She is probably the best Lebanese dancer today. But to be honest I don't know many Lebanese dancers, because I am committed to the Egyptian style (when it comes to Arabian belly dance )

Interesting. With that wide stance and some of the wilder movements, she looked like she was doing a violent set of calethetics at times instead instead of dancing. Anyone have any other video clips of her? I'd like to see them since I know little or nothing about Lebanese.

Default Amani

Dear Group,
I am not sure its THE Lebanese Amani, but the style is Lebanese from what I saw, thought the costume was quite different than the usual Lebanese clunky beads and high waist look, what I call the "wedding cake" look.
Regards,
A'isha

Well, even if the quality of the video is not very good, she looks pretty much like the Lebanese Amani and also her dancing style looks like Amani. But I could be wrong.

I've seen this particular drum solo choreography in three different clips so far. I'll see if I can upload one. I think she was not quite so ... energetic ... in one that I have.

Without a doubt this is lebanese Amani and her style is Lebanese, although I find her to be....more energetic than most. Lebanese style does not flow as smoothly as Egyptian style.

I agree. It was also a big difference between the live performance of Amani I watched and the live performance of Soheir Saki and later Aida Nour that I had watched some years before Amani's performance. Totally different energy. But at the end it is a matter of taste. And this doesn't mean, that I don't like the Lebanese style
