Oy Vey!
While this dancer has good energy, the dancing is a bit puzzling - it seems to depict the phantasy and to-be-avoided image of the Hollywood "gypsy" as a flirty cheeky gal in big skirts. That's inaccurate, and is considered an offensive stereotype. |

No, not really.
I was cringing at the stereotype I perceived - I really wish that this dancer's teacher had taught her to avoid this. For Roma, these representations are offensive. And, constructively, for those who like skirt-swishing dancing dripping with attitude - I highly recommend the instructionals by Dalia Carella. Well-researched instruction and jaw-dropping dancing. She is amazing. |

No Rayna, THAT was not a Roma dance! I'm not sure what it was actually. Usually I reserve less than positive comments on some of these video clips , but I will say her choice of music(Latino) w/ "bellydance" was an uninspiring ecletic choice.

NO, THIS IS NOT GYPSY DANCE!!! It is Oriental fantasy danced on a Spanish Rumba. This means, nonsense pure
Why the hell do they have to misuse the music that way? This kind of music is danced completely different normally. |
