Where to find?

In November I am going to a Belly Dance Gala performance

. I won't be performing since I've only just started but have been invited along. They have chosen a Middle Easten Dress theme.

I've tried finding websites that show the middle eastern wear but all I get are porn sites selling middle eastern women

for sex.

Anybody in Australia who can give me a name of a company that sells Middle Eastern, or show pictures so I can take to my dress maker or whatever, any help would be appreciated.

Just 2 question....are Middle Easterners all muslim? So would a middle eastern dress mean wearing that robe thing that covers their head and body?

Sorry not mean to be impolite. I am not familiar with proper names of things or culture traditions.

Alright first your question. No not all middle eastern are muslim, Yes majority of them are Muslim, But Middle Eastern wear is not all about "Burkha" or Robe that covers whole body, Its depends on the time and situation, I believe inside their house they can wear anything they like, Also Some of the middle eastern countries are quite progressive , Jordan, Turkey , Qatar ,Bahrain , where you can see many girls wearing western clothes like us.

Regarding your search for middle eastern costume, i know there are a few on ebay who sell them, also there are many individual online stores who sell "made in middle east' costumes .Have a search at

If you dont find anything that you are looking for , have a look at my site, They are very close to what a middle eastern costume will look like, all our hip scarves and costumes ect, are made in India,

Hi DancerAU,

Dipali's right, they not ALL muslim, and these days alot of the middle eastern women (both muslim and non) wear western stlye clothing. But that would be no fun would it !!

So, a nice idea would be a galalbaya.......like the ones I sell (However I don't have any at the moment but there are plenty on ebay I guess) - here's a picture of a really nice one I had....and some big earings. Lots of black Khol/eyeliner, and away you go !!
