Have a look at this article in the Gilded Serpent
I didn't know Gilded Serpent already published it, they just asked my approval 2 days ago, but I asked them to change a few things, seems they didn't listen to that

It's kinda odd. And I hate the typos and poor grammar.

Apparently the Gilded Serpent isn't the greatest for correcting spelling mistakes. The author of the article is not a native english speaking person, so it would have been nice if they helped out with the corrections.
I heard on Bhuz that they found that the article missed something. Maybe the author could have given some helpful costume tips. The last link in the article linked to a comment on a blog that is not very up to date. I find the illustrations quite strange, I think they just chucked them in, they did ask me if they could use images from the blog and I said yes.
I really didn't like the goddess part of it (it's only mentioned in the URL and it's a joke)

Maybe I'm missing something; it didn't make much sense to me, especially the bit about Tribal costuming. Agreed, looking like a rag-bag of off-cuts and old junk jewellery is a bad idea, but I didn't think Tribal HAD to reflect authentic ME costuming, what the Ouled Nail wore, etc.

Where DID the idea of using tassels on a hip belt originate anyway? I'm interested now....

For y'all's information, the picture at the bottom of the piece, called Ouled Nail, is taken directly from an old black and white photo that I have loved for years, and is not the original work of Ger Daniels, as is insinuated. This sort of thing bugs me a little. I have no objection to interpretations or adaptations in art as long as the original is referenced.

This is actually a crop of a full length photo, but I can't recall where I saw the full length version. Aren't they sweet and beautiful?

Well from the drawing I thought the girl on the right was wearing a victorian bonnet and shawl - so I was confused. Thought it was fusion - esp as in the drawing they are VERY fair skinned!!!

It read to me like an opportunity to knock tribal dancers and promote their own business...didn't I read " we sell..."?
Now anyone is entitled to voice despair with developments in dance but why not state it clearly.

I didn't notice that. Hmm that's strange.

As for the picture: the original is so much nicer! Thanks for posting that
