Default Dancing in Heels Spin off

I'm new to the Meleya Luff dance, but I like using the wrap.

If I were to perform this dance, where do I get the shoes called ship-ship and how easy is it to dance in them? Is is acceptable to not wear shoes while doing this dance? Every Meleya Luff dance I've seen shoes have been worn and I think it has to with the shoes making noise for attention because the dance is about getting attention, is it not?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The ship-ship shoes appear to be backless slip ons that are sometimes known as mules. I find them difficult to dance in and have seen a number of videos where the dancer kicks the shoes off after the entrance where she is just strutting around, in order to really dance.

you can find similar looking shoes by googling shoes from india or shoes from pakistan.

Locally I have found a store that carries inexpensive beaded slip ons that look lovely and I have used them.

Hi Marya:

Thank you so much for the advice!

I have some Candie's style shoes which look like Ship-Ship shoes (heavy plastic wood grained semi platform shoes which make a lot of noise), but I don't think I can dance in them. Plus, the leather upper tends to give me blisters, which is not good!

I like the idea of kicking them off. Great idea!

Thanks so much,

Azeeza
