I don't know about now, but we used to call them "Turkish" skirts. They were like a long panel of fabric that was attached at both ends to a waistband and then the middle of the fabric hung down by your legs and attached at the ankles with either ankle bands or jewelry or however you wanted to make that happen. I have just one and it is pretty cute. I don't know if this is what you are talking about, but you could certainly engineer any number of skirt styles to attach to the ankle. I love ankle bands. I think they are very sexy!! Regards, A'isha |

Hi Lydia:
I looked at Pappilion belly dance and I saw a dancer wearing two skirts and harem pants. Is that the attached skirt that Curl and Aisha are talking about? I didn't see anything attached to ankles except the harem pants. Azeeza Last edited by Azeeza; 05-30-2008 at 08:00 PM. |

Dear Azeeza, The skirt that I am talking about is probably not even Turkish, just called that when I was a young belly dancer. Imagine a vertical length of fabric that is long enough to fold over double and reach to the top of your foot. This is attached at each vertical end to a waistband, best made of elastic. the fabric fits like a huge, loose diaper between your legs and then is tacked on the sides a bit so as to not be too revealing. You can then attach it to your ankles at the fold near the ground. I wish I was a good artist and could draw it for you. It is similar to Turkish pants that hang very low in the crotch, but with no legs. Regards, A'isha |
