But you also wear a glamorous costume and "nothing on the hands" ;-)
Nice looking feet (not too much hardened skin, dirt, fungus-infected nails or whatever), with a bit of costume-matching nail polish for example are very complete in my opinion.

For me it is an esthetic thing.
About shoes:
For baladi, saidi, folklore in general barefoot.
For Raqs Sharqi (not all types) high heel ones.

Cant stand the platforms !!! lol
I love your honesty here!

I am not a fan either but I know there are some people who really do have to wear them for medical reasons etc. so we have to be kind for that reason!

Which would make sense if we wore gloves whenever we were in public, like we do shoes!

Oh yes yes yes! Bloch is a great brand...not too pricey either if you want something basic. Therr ballroom shoes come in nude, black or gold but there's always spray paint

Once upon a time, women would not have dreamed of going downtown without gloves and a hat. I remember my mother's hats and gloves- she hated them. I always managed to lose at least one glove and I only had to wear a hat at Easter. Thank goodness that fashion is done with!

I share the same opinion as Moon but I'm into heels too. The only time I really have an opinion is when short(er) dresses or skirts are worn. With no heels, it makes the dancer look blocky.

Discount Dance Supply

I use the character shoes #550 in tan. They are made for dancing; the heel is very sturdy, have great arch support and make your legs look longer with out drawing too much attention to your feet. I switch back and forth between the character shoes and lyrical sandals depending on what I'm doing.

Fancy beads and sequins look odd with bare feet IMO. I've heard some contests will mark you points down for not wearing heels for Sharki. Restaurants and other business have rules about shoes for public health reasons. I used to dance barefoot casually until I got a big piece of glass in my foot at a hafla. Outdoor stage floors are also a good reason to have shoes! You can cook an egg on black marley in the summer sun!

My legs are so short I look like my butt is dragging on the ground when I don't wear heels. Then again, maybe people think I'm always doing floor work...

That's where the zills, rings, wrist cuffs, gauntlets and nail polish go!

Indeed, same for feet imo. Nail polish, anklets, toe rings maybe.
