Also, the style of the top will look best on someone with a long torso and probably tall and slender. If you are short and plump or short-waisted it won't be flattering because all that fringe hanging down will obscure your waistline. Last edited by Shanazel; 02-04-2008 at 01:43 AM. Oh the photo it looks very nice, but I am afraid I have to agree with Sedonia. This type of costumes, that I have seen, are not really the most stable ones. I have never owned one, so I am not sure what are the chances of just reinforcing all the beads and sequins yourself after you buy it?

If you mounted it on an actual bra it could work. The whole item is just netting. The belt too I would make a base for, at least the top half that fits closely around the hips and I'd fray check the hell out of it.

Agreed. They need the structure of a bra form underneath, I have seen similar at UK haflas and mostly I am not impressed. They are very pretty in design and often colour but remind me of old-fashioned cruise wear not belly dance costuming. They are reasonably well made and often very cheap. But I have seen girls oozing out of the sides, flopping about in them and so my view on them is decidedly negative. Having said that I have no doubt with some care and atteention some will look good.

Hey! I used to have one of these! It made me look...uh....well. Not good.
Another thing about that top is that it's mesh and there's no actual bra underneath it, so you're pretty much naked. The beading does a good job of covering it up (mostly).

I bought half a dozen of these from this same vendor a couple of years ago, for resale. They're beautiful but they don't hold up. Some of them begin to loose beads just during shipping. The tops are basically a diamond shaped beaded net, problem is...they're not all the same size. They're very irregular. Some of the tops will cover your entire chest area but some won't. So sometimes you'll be left with a bit of boob (or more) showing on either side. They definitely aren't for large breasted women. They're also see-through.
They're not bad for the price I suppose, but you should consider these to be "disposable" costumes. You can only wear them 3 or 4 times before they begin to fall apart. Regards Priscilla |
