You should check out Erte's designs from the twenties and thirties (if you haven't already); you can order books of his illustrations from Dover Publishing, home of many clip art collections!

OK, they aren't always practical, and sometimes his models are downright scary, but the man knew design!

Dina's Bellydance Costume Galleries

Scroll down and check out Dina Lydia's black widow costume. I love her sense of humor, and she is very generous about sharing costuming hints.

Default Dina

Dear Shanazel,
I have seen some of her work up close and personal, like the Mother Nature costume in which she performed at the dance festival in Seattle a few years ago. Wasn't sure what it had to do with belly dance, but it was definitely a different costume!! she seems to have a great sense of humor!
Regards,
A'isha

I think when you turn out as many costumes as Dina does, you follow your muse into some unusual places at times and produce art for the sake of art..
