Oh, I have a few of those costumes. I have a little collection of crown/headband things that I don't ever wear!

Oh. THOSE crowns. Yeah they're pretty hideous. They only looked good on Wonder Woman. I save those and also the wrist things that come with some costumes, in a big plastic bag to harvest for spare parts. You know which crowns I really hate though? Those little rhinestone tiaras that look like pageant contestant crowns. What is with that? I recentlyl watched an Ahlan Wa Sahlan video where there was a dancer who not only performed with one of those on her head, but then insisted on wearing it throughout the entire evening even in her street clothes. She didn't take it off for a second. Those little tiaras look nice on brides, pageant contestants, little girls playing fairy princess, and on European royalty. But not on bellydancers.
Now, the big fabric crowns that Jillina wears....I DO like those. But only Jillina can pull that off. I've not seen them look good on anyone else except Her Highness Jillina. Regards Priscilla |

I just got done watching a BDSS video, the one that has the whole show on it, and I have to say, some of the ladies look very unfinished around the head area. I think it's OK for an informal performance, but IMO some of the dancers needed bigger hair, or some kind of head decoration, to go with the big stage and lights. So I agree with Amulya, sometimes headbands and crowns add something
