Oh yes I know the pain! Even from bathing suits. sometimes I can't accept that I shouldn't be wearing halternecks so I do it anyway... OUCH! And I'm not even that big. A large C I would say. One of my costumes has both the two straps over the shoulders AND a halterneck strap. I think it looks very good. The weight is all on the shoulders but the strap around the neck makes the bra stay in place and the "pattern" of several beaded straps framing my decolletage is very nice.
Adiemus- I think that top might make big boobs look even bigger since it has a "swelling" shape and covers all of the- (what is that word???)- klüft???

Gisela, you may be right! I think the word you were looking for was cleavage? I was thinking that the inverted 'V' might be slimming.... I think it's the neckline I really like, and would possibly play around with the bottom part of it.

Yes that's the one. It escaped me. I agree it's a pretty neckline, and who says you always should tone down big features and tone up small? You are also welcome to enhance big boobs even more. And of course I'm not completely certain that it does make you look bigger. I just know I feel uncomfortable in tops that go all the way up to the neck. I'm used to, and prefer, quite deep decolletage with some cleavage every day. I think that draws some attention away from my belly

Fabric that skims the curves in what looks like a long line is always slimming. It also helps to draw the eye up to the face and visually elongate the neck in a V, a boat neckline, a scoop or that one-shouldar thing.
And Shanazel, Frederick's of Hollywood is indeed still in operation. The catalogs are some of my husband's favorite, ah, perusing! Frederick's of Hollywood

That type of tops seem to make things appear so much larger... they do that to me at any rate, and I'm not even big breasted. Deeper V-necklines and similar give a much more streamlined look IMO, and help create the illusion of height.

Sometimes there can be a lengthening effect by having 'solid' colour, and it does depend on whether you have a long neck, or are long-waisted too... it's all about proportions I think, and you probably have to try them out.
