Thanks, everybody!

Kalila_raks, from reading those excellent instructions and picturing the fabric I have available around here, it seems like that would be sort of short. I know you said this would be an overskirt so I know it'll be shorter than the bottom skirt, but I'm just trying to picture how short. Anybody made this since she posted that and can post a pic?

I've made two of them, and they are both full length. I don't recall how wide the fabric was that I started with, but keep in mind that you're turning the squares diagonally. It will turn out longer than you expect.

Love the skirt here (whole costume really):

And this video snippet doesn't do it justice. I've got the DVD this seems to be from ("Sensual Bellydance") and the colors are much more vibrant than that. It's a very "mermaid" look with gorgeous greens & blues.
