As for 'ticket' is a number pinned to her pants, cos its a video from some sort of competitions.... I am here laughing and crying at the same time...LOL Cos one New year we were supposed to have a dance party (well think hafla...) and I was goig to make myself such a costume (with 2 sleeves thouh) and was shopping for fabric, unforunatly could not really find anything in Animal print that would not be 100% synthetic.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Joining this great and funny thread VERY late so i probably won't get to all pages of posts.
I took the photo of Mona Said (in black) below in 1994. It appeared in my Gilded Serpent article about some costumes I saw on some of the icons of Egyptian dance in 1992 and 1994. If you read the whole article, you'll find Morocco's laugh provoking description of one of Negwa's "disasters". As you read, plese keep in mind that it was 1992/1994 and that some of what I found a bit shocking then is pretty tame compared to what I've seen in the last 4 or 5 years. ![]() Cairo Costume Disasters by Leyla Lanty for the Gilded Serpent Last edited by LeylaLanty; 07-26-2008 at 03:52 PM. The pink polka dot spandex shorts outfit is one of my all time favorite UBDCs.
Oh, Reenie dear, it happens to all of us! One woman's dream is another woman's nightmare. You go right ahead and post it in beautiful costumes and I bet someone else thinks that's right where it belongs, too. I confess to preferring costumes that are much plainer than most people like- I am probably the plain jane of all dancers. If I wore anything with animal prints, I'd look like the whole pride instead of a single elegant tigeress. Leyla, of course I read that article- more than once as a matter of fact. I giggled each time. Last edited by Shanazel; 07-26-2008 at 04:28 PM. Reason: can't type, can't spell |

anyways i would like to thank you for this thread it is very entertaining! Well looking at the picture again... I think it would be much more comfortable for her if she had a bit of more centimeters added to the dress. I mean like that she can't even move without flashing anything. I like the beading and the style and it suits her but it looks so uncomfortable. Last edited by Shanazel; 07-27-2008 at 05:40 PM. Reason: subsequent posts |

Quite right about one womans UBDC being someone else's beautiful costume. Someone in our class has one of the costumes that has been mentioned here (ooh, hello, where have I seen that before...
!), and she looked absolutely fantastic in it.I have trouble taking leopard print spandex pants seriously after seeing Kenny Everett doing If You Think I'm Sexy. |
