Did you note the text for the costume: it called the top a "holster". Some "designer" must have a mental image of a big blonde from Texas wearing this costume with a ten-gallon hat and brandishing a pair of six-shooters as she gallops around the stage! (No offense intended to anyone but the vendor )

Oh, yeah! That same documentary also featured footage of Wilson and Keppel (no Betty, sadly) doing their Sand Dance and it was fantastic to see their act on a big cinema screen - their skinny, hairy legs and totally deadpan faces were hilarious, I can see why they were so popular.

Wombat-related hijack!
Check out the cuteness that happens here: Russell The Wombat's Burrow
I reckon as a wildlife conservationist, I would be qualified to do that when I move to Oz in a year or so - so you never know, we may yet make your wombat bellydance troupe dreams come true!!

Wombats of the Wailing Sands! Dancers of the Wombat Temple! Wombats out of Heck! The Wombatettes! The Weally Gweat Wombat Twoope!

In addition to wombat tails the dancers could wear little wombat noses.

LOL! Sounds good to me ... The Weally Gweat Wombat Twoope! Must have veils with wombat faces on them and sparklies for eyes! Maybe we can drag a basket or 2 out and have them "struggle" out rather than snakes slithering out!
