Default Tights

She's definitely wearing tights. She's also having a hard time keeping a straight face.

Carrie Fisher said she hated having to starve herself to look good in that costume and vowed never to do it again.

I suppose she could have danced in one of Leia's other outfits:

Why yes, I am a huge Star Wars geek. Why do you ask?

Number 2 is just right for the Raks Sharki Society

totally ugly and slutty!
People seem to adore Sahar Okasha... do you think they still would if her costumes cost $350?? I am not so sure.

Re: Princess Leia as slave girl. I can understand the sexy pseudo-bedlah, but I have wondered for thirty years: what's with the geeky booties????

Yeah, I never did get the boot things either. I'd say the lady doing this Leia bellydance has the corner on a market- guys just LOVE Leia stuff. It's weird. I mean, I love Star Wars but I don't go around asking guys to dress up as Han Solo for me!

Doh! It's a long way for me to have to go to return it, why didn't you say anything before?!?! Mind you, a costume so revealing probably wouldn't weigh much to post..!

Bwahahaha, don't you worry darling, as if Eman or Houda could ever create anything as tacky!

But it is similar to the costume that Shams wore at the closing party of the Nile Festival - I desperately tried to snap a shot but her entourage kept getting in the way! Bellydance meets baywatch - instead of a black & white leaf, she was wearing an orange bikini with SH on one cup and MS on the other, and on the thigh on the panties were flashing lights !

Words failed me!

Oh and as for the butterfly top campaign... I was there... please...never...speak..of..it..again!!! I am now traumatised for life, and can not look at one of those tops without thinking of that awful class! Sign me up!!

I'm going to go controversial and say that actually I think this young lady is very clever. If you look at the other clips of her she appears to dance mainly (if not solely) at comicon & other sci-fi conventions, and her costume is a near exact replica of the famous "gold bikini" outfit worn by princess Leia... The original costume was blatantly a sexed-up version of a belly dancer's costume, alluding to the good ol' harem fantasia in the first place, so I guess it's come full circle!

I don't see her doing anything smutty, and although the costume is as skimpy as they come, it is the same as the one in the original film and she is clearly well practiced in not flashing anyone in it.

And she looks good in it!

I find Britney Spears' "I'm a slave" more condescending to bellydance than this.
