Moon, My manufacturer showed me last time that costume, I believe they do it for European market, mainly Germany. I was just not sure what to do with a metal bikini set.Is it possible that the dancers wear them on harem pants and top?

the bra part looks similar to a bra cover - it goes over a costume bra...i really don't know for what on god's green earth one would want a metal bikini bottom!

What I think is funny is I'm getting some new ideas for costumes I'll make in the future (HAHAHAHAH).

Shanazel.... Those costumes are so rediculous the designer should have taken something worse than drugs... certain mushrooms, maybe.

Amulya and Shan where did you find those costumes????
Dina Lydia is also known as the Costume Goddess and has a website of the same name. She comes up with the best, the worst, the funniest, and probably the most costumes of anyone I am familiar with. I have no idea what kind of inspiration she uses, Moon, but the results are worth looking at for sure. She has one spiderwoman costume that set me giggling for five full minutes. She has written a series of books about making costumes. I have a couple of the books and find them very useful, so Mark, if you are looking for helpful hints for your upcoming costumes... though I shudder to think what kind of inspiration you are taking from this thread!

Obviously I'm not going to make exact replicas from some of these costumes but a lot of them have interesting ideas that can be adjusted for more "appropriate wear". Let's not forget that Middle Easterners love wacky, trashy yet glamarous costumes. Look at some of the costumes that Egyptian dancers will wear...esp the likes of Dina

My personal Dina favorite is the metal breastplate that digs into her flesh so hard it looks like it will cut. I tried to post that one here, but couldn't manage to find the magic words to get it off my own costume file. She's so cute that she can get away with a lot more than most of us, but she sure has some -er- remarkable costumes. What are you planning, Mark? Polka dot bike shorts are certainly enough to inspire any red-blooded costumer!

I know this one has been up before but it deserves another posting, and now as you are speaking of Dina anyway, here's the famous low-cut-skirt/sewed-on-thong/tuxedo-top costume:
