Moon, the thing is, it is not even a bra - no cups...it is just a fabric top...

I guess that the last picture (posted by moon), is just a practise costume. although I might be wrong.

Re: the costume Moon posted.

That can be duplicated easily enough. Just pull out the red union suit underwear I wear during colder hunting trips, get my husband to bring me home a pair of surgical booties from the hospital, go down to Target and buy some Christmas tree tinsel for a sash, find a nice veil and I'll be ready to go.

Speaking of ugly belly dance costumes, a long time friend and I have decided to do a geriatric belly dance routine, complete with walkers and assayas. What do you suggest for costuming to go with gray wigs and rock in a sock bras?

Gawdy flowered moo-moos are essential for an authentic geriatric appearance. You could always go for the flashy matching lame' jogging suits.

..........and don't forget the gold or silver slippers.

Well speaking as a senior citizen, I can do quite wicked things with my sparkly stick, I haven't quite yet decided what to do with the zimmer but then I outlast most of my students in class....
They're the ones who need a sit down after and hour and a half not me!
And on these cold nights they keep their fleeces and woolly socks on in class ..I have my hot flushes to keep me warm.

OMG and finished off by my very own bete-noire...the metallic slippers!

Might I suggest this over thermal combinations for those of us in colder climes.

Default What indeed

5 PIECE AUTHENTIC HANDMADE BELLY DANCE DANCING COSTUME - (eBay item 330062737163 end time Dec-08-07 12:47:06 PST)

I really don't know what to make of this item. For 350$ it looks like it's made of hip scarves. I won't go so far as to say it comes under the UGBD banner but please read description. This vendor writes she paid 600$ for the outfit. Would it be wrong of me to say three words. she ...was...robbed!?

I like the idea of the sleeves, those are kind of fun.

I don't like the ones hanging from the boobs. If they were attached at the base of the bra I would like them better.

I agree with Salome that the sleeves look fun.

This costume reminds me of a costume on a vintage album cover (I think) where the beads were attached at the ankles and appeared to go to the hips as if to form harem pants. I thought it was a pretty cool idea.

.....and isn't she the belly-coin-flipping dancer?

Oh my goodness. That poor girl. I cannot believe anyone would pay $600 dollars for that. It might be ok for maybe....$60 dollars? I wouldn't pay more than that.

Regards
Priscilla

I think this is a basically nice costume made by a person who didn't know when to quit with the extras: interesting sleeves, but fishnet stockings? And the bra makes it look like she has serious lactation issues.
