Razia!!! London's missing you darling!

Thank you for clarifying on Shafeek's classes. I do think his classes would definitely be value for money.

For me, it is not so much about whether people are worth it, the question is 'can they afford it?'

I am just glad that I no longer live in London.

The class I attended was 6.50 per class and 5.00 for a taster class. Very reasonable I though and comparable with other classes I attend. My yoga class is also 6.50. On my low income paying something like 6.50 is low enough to afford, just about, but high enough to show commitment. What was 13 pounds a week for classes was relatively cheap compared to 6.40 for the travel to get to the classes.

These classes, two per week, yoga and dance kept me from vegging in front of the tv, or going down the pub.

But now, no yoga and no dance, the yoga has finished whilst the teacher is down in the antarctic studying penguins and the the dance class, well I can't find one.

I pay £8 for an hour, do 9 classes get one free, and I think there's a discount for doing two classes. I think £10 an hour for classes with Shafeek is not unreasonable.

Khanjar makes a good point about the travel costs, it can be a significant add-on.

I hear you, it is something that I have to squeeze out of my budget sometimes, and I still have that American habit of converting pounds to dollars in my head when making decisions.
''Damn, $20.00 an hour for class is ridiculous!
''Oh wait, I'm in one of the most expensive cities in the world--never mind."

I'm guessing enough people can afford it, as the classes are well established. But I def take the point. I don't think I would be able to afford it every week along with my other commitments sadly.

My day job is an accountant, and I often try to get the numbers to add up, but quite frankly I don't know how it's possible to make a living solely from belly dance and still have a comfortable existence in London. Once I do get them to add up, watch this space, lol!
