I don't have synthetic flowers, I am trying to use a real rose in bloom. Maybe that's my problem.

Could be, the stem will break more easily. Hopefully you don't want to use one with thorns

Lol, roach clips....thats fantastic. Ive tried bobby pins and barettes, but nothing works, they always fly out of my hair mid performance when I use them. Doh!
