Thank you for posting these exercises. My husband has heart problems and has gained a lot of weight: mostly in the abs. I am worried sick about him. The doctors tell him to lose the weight, and he has tried very hard to modify his diet, but he states he can't exercise because of the pain in his back and legs.
I tried to tell him I know how he feels, as I was in that space about ten years ago, before I started dancing. I have gotten him to do Abs of Steel a couple of times, since there is no standing. Maybe some of these exercises will get him off his backside. I got us a membership to the local YMCA, hoping to get him into the pool to do water aerobics, but so far, no good. I have tried and tried to tell him that the pain won't go away until he starts to lose the weight and move his body. But his computer addiction is getting in the way. I have seriously considered taking out his power cord and hiding it until he exercises, but that would start a huge fight, I know. We are both off today, and so is my sister-in-law. We plan on roping him into the water class today. Wish me luck! ![]() |

take the water wings!! but seriously, he may be fearful of doing things that exert him if he has heart problems, and might need some reassurance that he will be OK... Sometimes people need the support of a group of health professionals to do this... eg pain management
