I think you can look incredibly elegant and graceful no matter what size and shape you are, as long as you feel the music and are healthy.

If you really want to play up a feature (rather than hide another), I think the Costume Goddess (go and google her!) has some awesome suggestions, but perhaps you look amazing anyway!!

No It's not because someone said that to me , I just feel it when I dance because I'm a little bit skinny and you are right about training the right muscles .

I look at myself and say to myself I have a perfect body because I have two eyes that can see, 2 ears that can hear and a mouth that can talk and arm and legs that can move and everything else at right places and functioning. I am thankful that I have it all. Pls pls don't be too concerend about your shoulders. Bellydancing is the only dance that is for all shapes, ages and sizes. It is a good thing to excercise, stretch and tone to make things look better, feel good and get healthier. I am dancer and I have a pear shape. I am not consious of it but I use to mention to my fellow dancers about it. My mom said this to me once "if they don't notice to comment about it and you don't either. By doing this you are saying to others as if you have some sort of body disorder. Don't bring unnecessary attention to anything that doesn't deserve" I was 16 then. That was the last time I talked about my lower half!LOL Feel beautiful and dance beautiful!!! Mind is a powerful thing and learn to use the power it has.

Cheers
Janaki

Maybe posture can help improve the look of your shoulders. It can't do anything about the "fatness" or "skinnyness" but it can do something about the shape, like roundness or sharpness. Just as posture can help a big belly look a liiiiittle bit smaller.

otherwise, I say listen to Janaki. Nice advice there, dear.

What is the best training to get skinny and sexy shoulder like this girl in this video.

YouTube - Didem Turkish bellydancer IV

I believe that a real bellydancer must have skinny shoulders ,don't you think?

No. I think a real bellydancer has talent and style with a good understanding of the cultures and music. A good bellydancer elevates the art. A good bellydancer highlights her dance by choosing the best music and moves that suits him/her...although you may not like your shoulders I doubt anyone in the audience is solely focused on them!
