o_O; I guess Glade Scented Oil Plug-Ins don't count, huh? sorry, sorry

We used to burn incense sometimes, but our incense burners got lost when we moved. I do love the smell of vanilla, and I also like cinnamon apple, especially during this time of year.

I make bath bombs with different scents for my moods! I also scent oils to use for massage to match my mood or problem and use a few drops essential oil mixed into bicarbonate of soda to sprinkle on the carpets before vacuuming!
Wiping your pantry out with lemon or orange or lavender oil also helps keep pantry moths and other creepies out. (I discovered peppermint kept ants away by dropping the whole bottle on my kitchen floor!!! The summer ants which come in droves to water all left within minutes.Grrrr -I had spent a Fortune on ant repellantpoison which did not work and all I needed to do was use nice, safe peppermint oil)

You need:
1 part citric acid
1 part bicarbonate of soda("koek soda")
witch hazel
Fragrance oil of your choice
bath bomb mould (I use chocolate moulds but if I am in a hurry and theyre for me I just squeeze a ball in my hands)
You can add a few drops of food coloring if you like.

Blend the citric acid and bicarbonate of soda really well. This is very important. I spend about 3-5minutes making sure it is well blended
Once you've blended it well, add color and fragrance oils to suit your preference.
Now drizzle the witchazel into the batch while stirring. Only a few drops at a time as you don't want it to fizz. ( You can use a squirt bottle todo this but I just drizzle) Continue mixing and drizzleing until the stuff sticks together when squished.
Working quickly, put it into the moulds or squeeze handfuls into balls and set on a smooth surface to dry 3-4 hours. You can usually tip them out of the moulds within minutes. Then set them to dry.
Keep the bombs in a sealed container and pop one in the bath for a treat.
The important things are: Mix the dry stuff well and work quickly once you are adding the witchazel and shaping them
I have super dry skin so I substitute about a quarter cup dry milk powder for some of the bicarb in the dry mix and about 2 tablespoons oil. The sizzle disperses the oil beautifully so the water feels silky but not oily.
These make lovely gifts for xmas and you can add things like flower petals in to give them extra pizazz. I like to wrap them in organza tied with a ribbon.
It only takes about 15-20minutes to whip up a batch.
Hope you like them too

I thought that was when a five year old filled the tub to overflowing, stood on the edge, and leaped in while holding his knees to his chest. BOOM!

I guess I'm the only person that goes to Cairo and gives more money for aromatotherapy than costumes lol

Serious now, they have the best quality perfume oils.
I'm a mint freak lol, so I order and they make for me shampoo, foam bath and body oil.
Beside that I take a special mix for headpain (and they learned me how to user it by my self and massage my head, its a miracle).
I get all the time pure sandalwood the texture of it is like honey and its kind of white colour but not solid.
Also all the times i get the special oil they make for dancers-foot at Egypt, a miracle !!!! after lesson's or dancing just wash feet, and rub with this oil you feel phewwwwwww in a sec, and treats the skin also.
The quality is amazing, friends from Greece that work with aromatotherapy import now from him.

I get them from my friend Fathy el Kerdasy he sends to all the world !

Maria...I MUST try that mint remedy for headaches! Sounds wonderful!
I love to burn incense and have 3 different places in my home where I burn them on occasion!
I also have an oil burner and LOVE to use neroli, jasmine & sometimes vanilla! I have also been gifted many scented candles and enjoy using these in my studio and my Buddhist altars in at home...
I find the scents truly relaxing!

I like natural scents in small doses, but it makes me nuts to walk into one of those stores that sells a variety of different scents- it's the olfactory equivalent of having a lot of people shouting at me. I get confused and experience the same sort of quesiness that I get with a migraine. I'm not sure if it is the overwhelming number of scents or the fact that a lot of them are manufactured chemicals as opposed to attars or extractions.

What is neroli, Gia?
