Girlies! Discovery of the century! (for me anyways!)

Urban Decay Cosmetics - Heavy Metal Glitter Liners - Eye Liner

It's amazing! You can make your eyes so much bigger and sparkly!

The photo's from half way through me mekup! John was taking a photo in the mirror on his phone.

I'm struggling with eye make up. I haven't worn any for many years so I'm out of practice and I've aged since I used to wear it regularly. I've been practising which has been great fun with varied success. I am finding that I can get a good dark eye but it makes my under eye look baggy and I seem tired.

Does anybody know of a guide to doing that dark smokey look specifically on Western eyes. It seems to me that the girls in most demos have Arabic or Asian eyes.

My eyes are very sensitive and I also wondered if anybody had a recommendation for eye make up remover that isn't too harsh but will get my face clean and that is available in Australia.

Chani, if you go to Panacea81 on youtube, she does FABULOUS arabic eye looks and she's your average caucasian girl. I love her vids =)

Looks like I need to practice a lot! Like Chani It has been ages since I wore full makeup, I actually hate it, I sweat the minute I put it on, and as for eye makeup, I end up with my eyes watering all the time. I love the gorgeous eye makeup in some of those demo vids.

Probably need a facelift first before I can get any sort of makeup to look so gorgeous and smooth

Caricar, thanks so much for letting us know about Panacea81, I've just spent the last couple hours on and off checking out her work, it's amazing. And so nice to see the transformation from a blank (and a little bit plump) canvas to some amazing styles. She's hilarious to listen to and just seems so much more accessible, I can watch what she does and feel like I can do it and achieve something pretty similar as well. Can't wait to give it a go.

Cheers

Chani,

I have sensitive skin though haven't noticed anything in particular about the eye area. I currently use Almay oil free eye makeup remover liquid. I've tried the Almay eye makeup remover pads, I have the moiturizing ones but they are so oily, the other type (I'm guessing oil free) are much nicer and easy for travel but perhaps are a little rough on really delicate skin to use all the time.

I also use Dove cleansing towelletes for a face cleanse on the run and find that they do a pretty good job of removing eyemakeup without to much effort.

All are available from Priceline in Aus, probably other beauty sections in supermarkets/phamacies/depatment stores also.

Panacea 81 was interesting, but lord, that girl is rough on her skin! It hurt to watch her jab around with those brushes. I can't see well enough without my glasses to put on eye makeup any more, but I saw a pair of glasses where one lens stayed up while the other lens folded down over the cheekbone. That way you can peer through one eye while working on the other. Anyone ever used such a contraption, or are you all 20/20?

I'd imagine that a lot of us wear contacts. I personally can't deal with glasses. I had them for 2 months in the 7th grade before I begged my eye doctor to let me start on contacts.

I'm with Chani on this make-up business. I used to be able to apply liquid eye liner from the passenger seat of a mini-van speeding to New York City, but those days are long gone. I didn't bother much with make-up for years, and now that I'm performing more I'm trying to remember how everything works. I don't know about the rest of you, but the biggest challenge is to remember not to rub my eyes while I've got the stuff on!

Alas, I don't have the kind of vision problem that can be corrected with contacts. I am perpetually the dancer in the glasses, but at least they magnify rather than shrink my eyes.
