Bless you for looking after other people's kids! I don't know what i'd do in the future if i had to have a rugrat and there was no one doing your job! We'll find a way to squeeze in some workout time for you if we put our heads together!

Just popping my head in as a new member to say hello and thanks for this thread, particularly the advice from Miss Shimmy on the first page.

After a life-long struggle with weight I don't seem to have any problems in that area any more, my metabolism seems to have altered, but I do have trouble motivating myself to actually DO stuff at times, there are so many more demands on my time in general. And it's important for general well-being to exercise. And at my age it's a good idea to do weight bearing exercise to ward off osteoporisis (never mind the fact that a toned bod looks good!). So I'm going to set some goals and keep the journal and make sure I don't skip more than a day - that's so true about losing momentum and motivation when you miss two days. It's like having to start over again.

That momentum is important - as is finding the right kind of exercise for you that will keep you motivated. I detest treadmills and stairmasters and regular stationary bikes but i'm crazy for Spin and that alone makes me excited about going to the gym and makes me not want to miss it. I've lost 6 pounds in 6 weeks from spinning almost everyday so if i can do so can you =)

Tikvah, that's wonderful! I'm glad you joined the thread.

altogether now, I'm down 57 pounds. Hoping for another 5 before mid october! I just got done with a major project and have more time for exercise now, so I'm hoping I can do it.

Sad

*sigh* Even at 106 pounds, I still had a customer today who asked me if I was due any time soon.

-hugs Farasha- I think someone needs a reality check or perhaps glasses if they are asking you that question at 106lbs.
